A detailed energy audit was conducted in World Plastics for Construction Industries and covered all utilities in the production facility including motors, compressed air system, cooling system, electrical supply system, lighting, boilers, and pumps. The annual overall savings was expected to be 400,000 kWh with an investment of JD 107,000 and a payback period less than 2.5 years, which represent 27% of the annual electricity consumption for the facility.
On the renewable energy side, World Plastics established a solar photovoltaic plant with capacity of 700 kWp to cover the remaining electricity consumption and it now produces 1,140,000 kWh annually to
save 102,000 JOD per year. The investment was 400,000 JOD and the simple payback period is less than 4 years.
Following the energy audit, ETA-max installed a rooftop photovoltaic system with a capacity of 712 kWp to cover the remaining electricity consumption. The system produces 1,140,000 kWp annually to save over JD 100,000 per year with a simple payback period of less than 4 years.
