Lafarge Cement Jordan, a member of the LafargeHolcim Group, has signed an agreement with Adenium Energy Capital to build the first solar power plant of its kind in the region.
The plant will produce up to 25% of the needed electrical power to supply Rashadeya Cement Plant in the South of Jordan.
This project will help Jordan to make the shift to alternative energy; a shift that is in line with the national strategy for renewable energy. It is also in line with LafargeHolcim Group’s sustainability development plan, which includes innovation in using natural resources across its global operations.
